About

Kylie Eaton is a director and writer with a passion for telling grounded stories about women’s lives through the lens of genre film. She draws on her Midwestern roots and love of science and the unknown to create thought-provoking and visually striking narratives.

She is an alum of Blackmagic Collective’s Feature Initiatives, Alliance of Women Directors Directing the Actor Lab, and is currently a fellow in WeScreenplays Diverse Voices Lab. Her short films have screened at Oscar-Qualifying festivals worldwide, won a host of awards, and debuted on DUST, the premiere online platform for science fiction.

Eaton's early work focused on music videos and branded content, where she honed her skills as director and editor. She created content for clients such as Capitol Records, Republic Records, Oliver Peoples, and Beach Body, and her work has accumulated over 40 million views online.

In 2019, she directed the short film, DISPEL, starring Gina Torres, which won the Mary Shelley Award at Other Worlds Austin and was the opening film for Bushwick Film Festival that same year. Her subsequent film, KINETIC, a Proof of Concept for her award winning feature script, was presented with the Film Empire’s Industry Next Award in 2021, which placed her with mentors at HBO, Marvel, and A&E.

In addition to her work as a filmmaker, Eaton is also an advocate for women and gender diverse creators in the film industry. She has written articles and spoken on panels regarding the importance of diversity and inclusivity, and she currently serves as Co-Chair of the Board of Directors for Alliance of Women Directors.
